a space awaits you

What a perfect time to kick off a new yoga season, just as all the fun of Fantasyfest comes to a close.   Come on down to Fort Zachary Taylor State Park and be embraced by all that is naturally beautiful here in Key West.  Drink in the blues of the ocean and sky, the greens of the vegetation, and the songs of nature in the air as you move in the rhythm of nature.

Don’t forget we have Saturday morning classes at Southernmost on the Beach at 9:00 AM with Gretchen Mills.

See you at Yoga On The Beach

Yoga & Love

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

Last week Gretchen was teaching class at the Southernmost on the Beach location in Key West.  She had one student, who was a guest of the hotel, on a steamy August morning.  It was a great time of sharing yoga one-on-one.  Then it was time for sivasana, and Gretchen says, “While Kayla was in sivasana, her boyfriend motioned me over to him. He told me he was going to propose to her when we were finished. Sure enough, he brought her over to the water and got down on one knee. It was really sweet!”

You never know what is going to happen at Yoga on the Beach!  Being present brings some very sweet gifts.  Stay tuned for the next chapter of YOGA &….

Hare Pose

This morning as I was teaching class, seated in a rotation, I noticed something out of the corner of my eye.  I’m used to seeing birds fly by, hear the sound of the ocean, and have various forms of human life pass by but this morning my eye caught something very different.  I quickly focused in and realized it was a rabbit. Oh to the power of our animal kingdom showing up in yoga.

The class was headed in the direction of relieving tension in the spine, and here was rabbit to remind us of just that.  If you have not explored this pose in awhile here is a link to remind you of the pose, its benefits and counterposes.  Namaste to the Hare.
